Spring Trendy Floral Frenzy

The flowers are blooming and so are the latest spring fashions.  It is no surprise that floral patterns are appearing on every garment and the Easter Bunny is upset that he cannot tell his decorated eggs from some skirts.  This season, everyone wants some flowers and color in their life.

Purple, yellow, blue and pink are all great colors to look fresh at school.  This is the one time of the year that you can be thought of as adorable by wearing bright colored flowers without people thinking your grandma made you wear that shirt she hand-sewed for you.

If you are going to wear a flower, smell like a flower too.  Don’t show up to a school wearing a bold purple tank paired with a stunning flower skirt if you smell like a musky apple.  This is your time to spritz that Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume on your neck to create the illusion that you just so happen to naturally smell like a flower.  Think of it like adding sprinkles to a cupcake, they just belong together.

It seems like during springtime, everyone is getting married.  If you were invited to a wedding, this is your chance to wear that one dress that will make all those bridesmaids wish they were wearing your dress and not the blood-red dress the bride chose for them.  Pick a dress that has a little uniqueness to it.  All the other female guests will be wearing the obvious floral dress, but you want to stand out amongst the bed of roses.  Go with stripes, or some kind of pattern that still ties in the spring colors but has a twist to it.  Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe have a great selection of dresses that don’t have that easily shadowed floral pattern.  Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a stunning floral dress, but at a wedding do not be one of many wearing the same style dress.

To jazz up an outfit, wear a bright colored jacket!  Many stores are carrying  jackets with popping colors making it easy to pick and choose among your favorite spring hues.

Spring accessories are making a statement.  Whether it’s a flower in the hair or a flower on a necklace, it is a must-have.  An intricate flower necklace can be the basis for a killer spring outfit.

Flirt with a Skirt

These past few weeks are reminding us why we love Southern California, for the sun!  With winter far in the past, it is time to bare those legs and take in some serious rays.  What else will flirt with that hot soccer player in class without saying a single word? A skirt is the trendiest way to keep cute during this transition between spring and summer.  But with so many different styles, patterns and lengths to choose from, how do you know which skirt is right for you?

Lets talk color.  A bright colored skirt is key if you haven’t achieved that summer glow yet, but still want to rock a mini.  Mustard yellow is a great color to shop for because it contrasts nicely against any skin tone.  Forever 21 has a great selection of bright colored skirts that make all those Easter eggs painted with envy.

A great way to look cute without the hint of trying is the classic jean skirt that has an edge to it.  Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch are well known for their beachy-frayed skirts, but why not switch it up with a skirt from Pink by Victoria’s Secret that has decorative patches?  When shopping for a jean skirt, don’t rest for one that is basic, but find one that has unique stitching or intricate detailing, this will set you apart from the rest.

We have all been in a situation where we are unsure if we should be dressy or casual to an event.  A great solution to fill both cups is to pair a t-shirt with a skirt.  The skirt will make your outfit dressy, but then a t-shirt will balance that outfit so you can feel comfortable in what you are wearing.  This is also an easy way to get away with wearing flat shoes with a skirt without feeling like your feet ruined the outfit.

A great pattern on a skirt will do just the trick to making a bold fashion statement.  Forever 21 has patterned skirts that will even catch the eye of a blind man.  But beware when shopping for a patterned skirt.  Because these skirts are already busy, pair it with a plain colored top or a shirt that doesn’t have a whole lot going on.  Once you have the perfect mix and match, you are set to sport that skirt proudly.

And of course we cannot forget that classy pencil skirt.  There is no better way to stand out amongst your pant-wearing co-workers than by wearing a silky pencil skirt.  This skirt shows that your personal style does not stay at home when its time to get professional, but instead it follows you to work.  However, with such a fashion piece comes a caution, constant stares are part of the deal.
